Annie Hall (Woody Allen, USA, 1977)

  • The Lord Palmerston 33 Dartmouth Park Hill London, England, NW5 1HU United Kingdom (map)
Many things mark Annie Hall’s place in cinema history, but none of them are the reason you should see this movie. That would be the humour, poignancy and acute observation contained in each and every frame.

Screened in tribute to Tony Roberts (1939 - 2025)

Comedian Alvy Singer (Woody Allen) examines the rise and fall of his relationship with struggling nightclub singer Annie Hall (Diane Keaton). With a supporting cast that includes Shelley Duvall, Christopher Walken, Carol Kane and Paul Simon, Annie Hall is arguably Woody Allen's greatest movie and certainly one of his most influential, setting the template for the modern day rom-com. And, of course, Woody Allen regular, Tony Roberts, gives a reliably brilliant supporting performance as Aly’s best friend and confidant, Rob.
