Yellow Submarine (George Dunning, UK, 1968)

yellow
...this charming fable chronicling the Beatles’ battles to save Pepperland from the Blue Meanies is one of the best testaments ever to the redeeming value of good music.
— Washington Post

The Beatles agree to accompany Captain Fred in his Yellow Submarine and go to Pepperland to free it from the music hating Blue Meanies. Made at the height of their popularity, this cartoon is filled with puns and dry British humor, where psychedelic music videos take precedent over any linear story. But in a good way.

Shown in tribute to George Martin (1926-2016)
