Christmas Screening + TPFC Christmas Party!!!

Forgotten and... excellent British version of Dickens’s Christmas Carol...
— The New York Times

Seymour Hicks stars as Ebenezer Scrooge - the grumpy ol skinflint who hates Christmas with such an unhinged pathological passion that a series of ghosts feel compelled to intervene and convince him to change his miserable ways. Hicks had previously played the role of Scrooge on the stage in 1901, and stared again in a 1913 silent film version, but this is the first full-length sound adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic novella.

Scrooge’s running time is a cosy 61 minutes, which gives us plenty of time afterwards for a cup o’ festive cheer and a plate o’ festive snacks.

If you’d like to join us for some post-film festive grub and the chance to mingle with your fellow film clubbers, there’ll be an additional charge of £12 (payable in advance when you reserve a seat).
