To Kill a Mockingbird (Robert Mulligan, US, 1962)

mock
A classic adaptation of an American classic. Storytelling doesn’t get much better than this.
— Empire Magazine

The Academy Award-winning adaptation of Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. Screened in In tribute to Harper Lee (1926-2016).

“What more could I ask for?” was Harper Lee’s reaction when she was told Gregory Peck would play her heroic lawyer Atticus Finch. In tribute to Lee, who died on Friday, we thought it was worth reminding ourselves of the Oscar-winning screen adaptation, which arguably did as much to propel Lee’s story of small-town racism into the public consciousness as the original novel.

The restored version of the film will look stunning on The Star’s big screen.
