Using private family papers and rare archive Hannah Rothschild tells the story of her great aunt ‘Nica’, the Jewish British Baroness who fell in love with the music of American genius Thelonious Monk and abandoned her life in the UK for 1950s New York City. Helen Mirren is the voice of the Jazz Baroness and Sonny Rollins, TS Monk Junior, The Duchess of Devonshire (aka Deborah Mitford), Quincy Jones, Lord Rothschild, Roy Haynes, Chico Hamilton all contribute.
