Stanley Kubrick’s magisterial Thackeray adaptation now stands as one of his greatest and most savagely ironic films, not to mention one of the few period pieces on celluloid so transporting that it seems to predate the invention of cameras.

We’ve always thought it would be nice to have the occasional Sunday matinee in order to screen films slightly too long for our usual evening slots.

We’ve also always thought it would be nice to show Stanley Kubrick’s 1975 masterpiece, Barry Lyndon.

And now, thanks to The Vine on Highgate Road, on Sunday 5 July 5 we are able to do both!

Ryan O’Neil stars as the eponymous social climber in Kubrick’s brilliant adaptation of William Makepeace Thackery’s 1844 novel.

So that’s Sunday 5 July, Barry Lyndon at 3.00pm. We hope you’ll be able to join us for a nice lazy afternoon of film’n’lunch (note: Barry Lyndon is 3 hours long, and rest assured THERE WILL BE AN INTERVIAL!)

If you'd like to book a table for lunch give the pub a ring on 020 7209 0038.
