Set in an unspecified Midwestern town, Gabriel Bryne stars as Tom Reagan, the right-hand man and chief adviser, to Albert Finney's mob boss Leo O'Banyon. Trouble is brewing between Leo and another mob boss, Johnny Caspar (Jon Polito), over the activities of a bookie, Bernie Bernbaum (John Turturro) and Leo and Tom are at odds on how to deal with it. Top-tier Coen Brothers (perhaps even their best) and with its labyrinthian plot and hard-boiled dialogue Miller's Crossing is a neo-gangster pic par excellence.
